Acclaimed Canadian director Denis Villeneuve is working on several new films following the huge success of Dune: Part 2and among these we know there is also a mysterious sci-fi written by the author Eric Roth.
The film, which Roth had defined in an interview as ‘a very lonely story about space and time’, according to new exclusive revelations published by World of Reel will be an adaptation of Korean author Bo-Young Kim’s short story “I Am Waiting For You”: described as “a love story set in the future” and starting in 2080, the story revolves around a man who travels through time and space in an increasingly desperate and unlikely attempt to reunite with his fiancée but small accidents disrupt space and time, further distancing them from the date of their wedding.
Denis Villeneuve had previously mentioned that he had “five projects on the work table” as his possible next film: we were aware of Nuclear, Dune 3, Rendezvous with Rama and Cleopatra, and now we know that the fifth – at least according to the usually very reliable World of Reel sources – is I’m Waiting For You. Now it remains to be seen which project Denis Villeneuve will choose as his next film and when the work will begin.
