Alex Wyse was one of the most loved and well-known students of Amici 2022, but after the end of the talent show, traces of him were somewhat lost. Recently the singer ended up in the spotlight again, but for a very different reason: now he does the talking and takes a few pebbles off his shoes.

It seems like a century ago, yet the edition starring Alex Wyse aired just a couple of years ago. A sign, most likely, of how talent shows churn out new artists almost immediately but very few of them actually manage to maintain a significant artistic career. Although Amici di Maria De Filippi has launched the careers of many artists who are now very famous, such as Emma Marrone, Elodie, Annalisa and Angelina Mango just to name a few, many others have ended up in oblivion, including the winners. Who remembers, for example, Virginio or Sergio Silvestre today? Precisely.
Not that Alex Wyse doesn’t have talent, on the contrary: he is a singer who has shown on more than one occasion that he is mature and ready for the stage, but we lost track of him a bit after the end of the program. Born in Como in 2000, he moved to Great Britain at a very young age, graduating from the Bimm Music Institute in London, working in the meantime as a waiter and cashier for various clubs in the English capital. Once he returns to Italy, he decides to try his luck by participating in the Amici auditions, passing them and becoming one of the most followed students of the 2022 edition.

Interviewed by Today, Alex recalled his journey at Amici, also revealing some anecdotes that had remained hidden until now and giving his opinion on a controversy in which he was recently involved. “She has always been very helpful. She doesn’t mince words, she always says what she thinks. She is an extremely empathetic and intelligent person” the singer declared about Maria De Filippi, also touching on the issue of the criticisms that were made following the skirts worn during his live performances.
“I thought that many people feel wrong and are afraid to do something so as not to feel judged. Maybe I could help them in some way. I can’t stand ignorance and prejudice” Alex stated firmly, who he also talked about the change in his music after participating in the talent show. “At first I always wrote alone, then I met other authors. My music has changed, certainly, but the basics have remained the same. Now, however, I want to be more carefree and colourful. Now I need lightness” said the artist, who already has a couple of songs ready to propose for the next Sanremo. Will he be one of Carlo Conti’s new Bigs?
