Civil War: preview a clip of the formidable American dystopia with Kirsten Dunst

It’s been since the US press previewed it that Civil War it has been branded a masterpiece, and with good reason, given that Alex Garlandone of the most daring directors of his generation, managed to put it together a sinisterly plausible dystopia in which America shows itself to the public as we have never seen it before, that is on the verge of collapse. It is here, through wastelands and cities destroyed by the explosion of a civil war, that a group of reporters embark on a journey in extreme conditions, risking their lives to tell the truth.

The fulcrum of Civil War it is precisely this: the courage of some enlightened people, including the photojournalist Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst) and colleagues Joel (Wagner Moura) and Sammy (Stephen McKinley Henderson), to travel across the country at war to tell what the government denies even in the face of evidence. The President of the United States (Nick Offerman), as we also see in the clip we preview above, he boasts on television of great victories and amazing reconstructions, even though he is well aware that his hours are numbered and that the rebels are about to break through the last defenses. And this is where Civil War reveals its power, making us reflect on the point we have reached and what the actions of an authoritarian President could lead to in an apparently civilized and democratic country. The film, arriving in cinemas on April 18this an exclusive for Italy Leone Film Group in collaboration with Rai Cinema.
