The Fall Guy, synopsis and details

Colt Seavers is a stuntman and, like any self-respecting stuntman, he is ready for anything: getting blown up and shot, crashing, throwing himself out of windows and from every possible height. All for our entertainment. Now, however, having just recovered from an accident that almost put an end to his career, he will find himself faced with the most difficult test of his life: finding a missing movie star, unmasking a conspiracy and trying to win back the love of his life, while continuing to carry out his work on a daily basis. Will he be ready to be the hero?

From director and real-life stuntman David Leitch (Bullet Train, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and producer of John Wick, Nobody and Violent Night) comes a gripping new action thriller with an all-star cast; a love letter to action movies and to all those who contribute to making them, working hard and often going into the background: The Fall Guy.

Oscar® nominee Ryan Gosling (Barbie, La La Land, Drive) plays Colt Seavers, a battered stuntman who, a year after leaving the scene to focus on his physical and mental health, is called back into service when the protagonist of a stellar film directed by his ex Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place, Sicario), disappears. While the film’s ruthless producer (Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham; Ted Lasso) tries to keep the news of the passing of star Tom Ryder (Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson; Bullet Train) a secret, Colt tries his hand at more acrobatic stunts as he tries (with limited success) to get back into Jody’s good graces. But as the mystery surrounding the star’s disappearance deepens, Colt will find himself entangled in a sinister plot that will push him to the brink of a fall more dangerous than any stunt he has ever attempted.

Inspired by the hit 1980s television series, The Fall Guy also stars Winston Duke (Black Panther) and Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once). With a screenplay by Drew Pearce (Hobbs & Shaw), The Fall Guy is produced by Kelly McCormick (Bullet Train, Nobody, Atomic Blonde) and David Leitch for 87North, and by Ryan Gosling and Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones, Steve Jobs and executive producer of the upcoming series “Ripley”) for Entertainment 360. Executive producers are Drew Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz of Entertainment 360 and Glen A. Larson (creator of the original television series “Fall Guy”).
