Once the expression of interest has been delivered to the Ministry of Culture, the New routes for the culture of Savona officially begin
This morning the Mayor Marco Russo formalized the expression of interest at the Ministry of Culture which officially makes Savona in the running for the title of Italian Capital of Culture, after many months of work, 92 preliminary meetings e 9 thematic appointmentswhich they involved 1900 people and generated over 200 project proposals received from the Application Office.
Savona can count on the support of a vast and united territory, with the membership of Already 32 Municipalities to this candidacy, which we have always imagined as plural. The response from the area was enthusiastic and proactive, demonstrating how Savona and its inhabitants are ready to get involved for a future that not only concerns the city, but its routes in the North West and the Mediterranean.
The New routes are those of the goods, people and cultures that pass through Savona, a port in which to generate unique experiences to import and export ideas, innovation and development. In this space it is possible designing a new model of the future: a future that looks at the economic, political, scientific and cultural histories of the territory, with the will to make an exemplary transition for Italy and for Europe.
By following new routes of space, meaning and sharing, the candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture represents for Savona the opportunity to catalyze sustainable development processes for the citizens of today and for those of tomorrow.
The deadline to submit the expression of interest in the candidacy is July 3 and we will soon know the other cities in competition. The next formal step will be the delivery of the candidacy dossier on September 26, after which the Ministry Commission will indicate the ten finalists (December 12) who will participate in the final hearings (March 2025).
