MESSINA – Lega Pro has defined the groups of the Primavera 2024/2025 championship. Messina will compete in the Primavera 4 Championship, in group B, together with 10 other teams. The opponents will be Arezzo, Az Picerno, Campobasso, Casertana, Cavese, Pianese, Pineto, Sorrento, Team Altamura and Trapani. Catania instead was drawn in the Primavera 3 championship “Dante Berretti” a higher category. These two types of championship are reserved for Serie A, B and C teams that do not participate in the Primavera 1 and 2 championships. However, the matches will all be played on Saturday.
In the Primavera 4 Championship, that of Messina, there will be two phases. In the first part the classic round robin with home and away matches between all the teams in the group. Then there will be the playoffs for the teams classified from first to fifth place in the rankings of the two groups, with the first classified that will be considered seeded and will go directly to the final. The two winners of the playoffs will have the opportunity to request admission to the Primavera 3 Championship the following year.
All players born after January 1, 2006, under the age of eighteen, can participate in the Primavera Championship, but a maximum of three players over the age limit will be admitted. Of these, only one without age limit and two born after January 1, 2005, therefore nineteen years old.
