Marsala – On June 27, the Marsala Lions Club, chaired by Mrs. Paola Di Pietra, awarded the “Totò De Simone” scholarship to a student of the Mario Nuccio high school, for having distinguished herself in the three years of middle school for her commitment and for the excellent results obtained in any scholastic and extracurricular subject.
Present at the ceremony were the club members: Angelo Fici, Michele Fici, Elisabetta De Vita, Diego Maggio, Franca Donata Pellegrino, the area president Francesco Gandolfo, the club president Paola Di Pietra; the daughter Carmela and the nephew Andrea Cucchiara of professor De Simone; the parents and sister of the student, the school principal Francesco Marchese and some teachers of the school.
The head teacher thanks the club and highlights Martina’s talents and adds that, both for the girl and for the family, this recognition means a lot. Francesco Gandolfo intervenes, congratulating the girl and informing those present that the choice to name the scholarship after Totò De Simone was born from the desire to keep the memory of the latter alive, given that he was an important reference for the club . Diego Maggio intervenes to underline the human and professional qualities of the professor.
