The votes to elect the new Board of Directors of the Port Workers Company took place in recent days, by secret ballot, which reconfirmed Enzo Raugei as leader.

On the basis of a choice of a path preparatory to the generational change that also saw the hiring of young workers, the votes envisaged the election of four councilors instead of the three belonging to the previous Clp council. The result of the ballot boxes in the first round, based on 50% + 1 of voters, reconfirmed Enzo Raugei with 73% of the preferences and Marco Dalli, councilor, with 53.7%. The second round of balloting for the election of two councilors out of the four candidates – Luca Ghezzani, outgoing councilor, and the other operational workers Luca Cavallini, Alessio Prosperi (Cilp) and Simone Angella – Ghezzani (56.43%) and Cavallini (54.51%) were elected. The new Council, at the end of the counting of the votes, proceeded together with the auditors to nominate Enzo Raugei as president of the Port Company for the next three years.

The votes, which were well attended (92.4% in the first round and 85.7% in the second) were commented by the new president – at the helm of the cooperative since 2006 – as proof of the sense of belonging of the members, just as the confirmation of the outgoing Board was defined by the same as a sign of the good work done in the previous mandate in governing complex situations and at the same time in strengthening the cooperative, also through a policy of alliances and relationships, which has borne fruit.

The electoral commission, which applied the procedures established by the regulation, was made up of seven workers elected at the assembly: Valenti Valentina, Belli Erica, Di Franco Diego (president), Falcinelli Michele, Lorenzini Simon, Lubrani Simon and Petrucci Matteo.

“The inclusion of Luca Cavallini, a valid young man together with Luca Ghezzani, creates the conditions to continue the path of transmission of experiences and skills aimed at generational turnover, a founding principle for cooperatives” said Raugei, who then indicated the objectives of the next mandate: consolidation of the economic position, quality of the services offered, investing the resources available in the port, the “core business” of the cooperative’s activity, and pursuing gender equality, also aiming at energy projects linked to hydrogen and green economy.
