Coldiretti Basilicata, with provincial and regional members and managers, it is in garrison from 9:00 this morning under the Basilicata Region headquarters in Powerto monitor the work of the technical secretariat of the Puglia-Basilicata water program agreement, which will have to define the distribution of water resources.
Points out Antonio Pessolani, president of Coldiretti Basilicata:
“The situation, as we have repeatedly denounced, is dramatic and risks compromising the future of many companies, especially if the meeting of the technical secretariat does not satisfy the farmers’ requests.
We need to intervene urgently e Unfortunately, we are witnessing a thicket of institutions and bureaucrats that do not allow the Land Reclamation Consortium of Basilicata, diligently represented by the agricultural world, to transfer said water resource in a timely and rapid manner.
It is time not to hide behind mathematical algorithms, which are based only on the need to take extra precautions, becoming an alibi for not taking responsibility”.
The procedures must be started for the recognition of the state of calamity due to the drought that has been going on since June from last year, in order to prepare interventions, including extraordinary ones, that favor the resumption of production activity of companies that in many cases, already at this moment, urgently need economic support from regional institutions”.
