St. Peter’s stalls, a tradition respected in Cremona

Accused for a few years now for their lack of originality, the lower influx of customers and the expensive stalls, the many empty spaces left along the kilometre that separates Porta Po from Largo Moreni, the stalls of San Pietro are instead clearly in contrast this morning, greeted by the people of Cremona since the early hours of this 30th June, also thanks to the sunny but quite cool weather.

Lots of people walking, but also buying, as shown by the bags full of those who, around 10, have already completed their round. Colors, like those of the bags and ethnic clothing; smells from the food stalls from various parts of Italy; perfumes. But what really makes this moment of aggregation characteristic are the groups that form in front of the sellers of magical brushes for cleaning the house, multifunctional fanny packs, products that wash everything whose properties are extolled with proven oratory skills. Something that manages to recreate, even if only for a few minutes, a bit of that sense of belonging to a community that characterizes fairs and markets and that the various Amazons or e-bays cannot replicate.

The stalls will remain open all day until late evening, to greet as always the month of June for the people of Cremona, as well as the fireworks display of yesterday evening. gb
