PALERMO – Drug dealing and wild nightlife in Palermo: an arrest and a complaint. The Carabinieri of the Palermo Centro station, with the contribution of the municipal police, they arrested a 25-year-old from Palermo, already known to the police, held responsible for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
During the checks aimed at verifying the regularity of the trade and supply of food and drinks, carried out in various public establishments in the Cassaro district, the suspect was taken by surprise by the operators who, during a check inside an apparently closed restaurant, surprised him in the restaurant’s kitchen while he was preparing around 40 doses of cocaine.
The 25-year-old was placed under house arrest at the order of the Public ProsecutorThe recovered narcotic was seized and delivered to the Narcotics Analysis Laboratory of the Provincial Command of Palermo for qualitative and weight tests.
During the inspection, in addition to the restaurant, two other public establishments in Via dei Cassari were closed as they were completely irregular. A 37-year-old from Palermo, already known to the police, was reported at large for occupation of public land, lack of health SCIA and lack of hygiene requirements.
The 37-year-old, manager of two businesses, allegedly occupied public land without authorization with an illegally built structure. Both premises, lacking the necessary requirements, were placed under administrative seizure, as the road was also subject to legislative provisions regarding Cultural and Environmental Heritage and therefore arbitrarily intended, without the necessary authorization from the Superintendence of Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Sicilian Region, to a use incompatible with its historical and artistic character. As part of the control, administrative fines of around 33,000 euros were also imposed.
