It took place on 25, 26 and 27 June at the municipal theatre ” Lucio Dalla” of Manfredonia the 2024 edition of “EXPRESSION OF DANCE” the now traditional appointment with dance organized every year by the My Dance school of performing arts in Manfredonia. EXPRESION OF DANCE in theory, it should be a simple essay at the end of the academic year, but in reality for many years, it has represented a concentration of art and entertainment in its pure state, capable of surprising and glueing many spectators to the theater seats, again this year there were more than two thousand for the three dates on the calendar.
Magnificent stage costumes, breathtaking sets and the professionalism and creativity of teachers and choreographers have merged to create the ideal basis in which to bring together the ability and talent of hundreds of dancers, an explosive mix elaborated to gratify the eyes and fill the hearts of the many spectators who attend these shows every year.
In this edition, the My Danceunder the tireless and visionary guidance of its artistic director Rita Vaccarella, has brought the unpublished works on stage for the youngest students (from four years of age) “Once upon a time there was a witch…” with classical and contemporary dance choreographies and ” Red Mill” with choreographic moments inspired by modern and urban styles, while the older students were the protagonists of the works “Geisha” (unpublished) with classical and contemporary dance choreographies and “Chicago” taken from the iconic Hollywood masterpiece, with modern jazz choreographies , and Urban.
All the works were conceived and created by the school’s teaching staff, who, working in synergy with the best artistic expressions of our territory (papier-mâché masters, tailors, writers, lighting and sound technicians and much more…) have given life to an unparalleled concentration of emotions.
We dreamed, all of us becoming a little bit like children again with “Once upon a time there was a witch….”we were moved by the poignant and disenchanted story of “Geisha” and finally, we were overwhelmed by the glittering magic created by the sequins and glitter of “Moulin Rouge” and “Chicago”.
Once again, and as always for the last 14 years, My Dance has given our city three days of 360-degree art, which will remain well impressed in the eyes of those who have been able to attend it for a long time, at least until June 2025, when, and we are sure of this, it will amaze us with new works that are equally incredible.
