There is about a week to find a solution, if there is still an option on the table. The future of the Statue of the Kiss at the Marina is hanging by a thread, its permanence in Civitavecchia today seems very unlikely. The rental contract with the owner should expire within a few days.
Specifically, next July 9th and the possibilities of choice are very few: on the one hand the purchase of the work, on the other its removal. This is because, in recent months, the owner apparently let the municipality know that he was no longer willing to grant extensions.
And for the purchase we are talking about a very high sum, even 800 thousand dollars. In short, everything is in the hands of the new municipal administration, with the yellow majority which however does not seem willing to do anything crazy to retain the statue, also according to what was communicated during the electoral campaign.
