AGI-Quattro Journalists reported being harassed, touched and groped in the private parts by an unidentified man during the Milan Pride yesterday afternoon. The whole thing would have happened during the press point of PD secretary Elly Schlein, under the party bandwagon.
The man, noticed wandering among the journalists gathered for the interview, apparently took advantage of the crowd to confuse himself and harass the reporters. The party, once informed, immediately took action in solidarity to journalists and to investigate further what happened, checking and excluding that the man was one of their volunteers.
The Democratic Party, “at all levels, firmly condemns the incident and expresses its most sincere solidarity with the journalists. Having learned the news – the regional secretary of the Democratic Party of Lombardy Silvia Roggiani and the secretary of Milan Alessandro Capelli say – we contacted the journalists involved to express our closeness and to shed light on this unacceptable and shameful affair. The man in question has nothing to do with the Democratic Party. Let’s work to ensure that this complaint does not end in nothing. We are all heartbroken, once again, by yet another episode of violence. We fight alongside those who report and against all forms of gender violence and sexual harassment.”
