The big day has arrived: Piacenza hosts the Tour de France 2024. The departure of the yellow caravan from our city is scheduled today (July 1st), with the direct route to Turin, the third segment of the 111th edition of the Grande LoopVarious traffic and parking bans have been established on the affected streets: here are all the details on the changes to traffic.
The meeting point for the riders and the Tour de France village are located in the parking in Viale Malta, with opening scheduled for 8:15. The advertising caravan leaves from the Garilli stadium, moving towards the Pubblico Passeggio and crossing the starting line at 9.15am. The procession is made up of vehicles for a total length of 13 kilometres.
The meeting point for teams and cyclists is always in the parking lot on Viale Malta. The roll call of the teams begins at 10:00 and ends at 11:10. The non-competitive start is scheduled for 11:15 from the same parking lot, following this route: Via Venturini, Stradone Farnese, Via Giordani, Piazza Sant’Antonino, Via Sant’Antonino, Piazza Cavalli, Via XX Settembre, Piazza Duomo, Via Romagnosi, Viale Risorgimento, Piazzale Milano, Via Maculani, Via XXI Aprile along all the walls, Piazzale Torino, Via Emilia Pavese, up to Castelsangiovanni. The actual start of the race takes place on the Trebbia bridge in San Nicolò.
The internal city tour leaves from the Viale Malta car park at 11.15am and lasts approximately 20 minutes, reaching the km0 in San Nicolò for 11:35. The passage in Rottofreno is scheduled between 11:42 and 11:43, in Sarmato between 11:46 and 11:47, in Castel San Giovanni between 11:53 and 11:55.

To reach the city on July 1st, free shuttles are available every 10 minutes from the Expo, the cemetery, the stadium and Veggioletta.
