Macerata Campania. Yesterday, Friday 28 June 2024, the new administration led by the newly elected Mayor Giovanni Battista Di Matteo officially took office in Macerata Campania. The first municipal council, the inauguration one, took place in the council chamber of the town hall on Corso Umberto I.

After the validation of the elected representatives, the mayor took the oath, excited and aware of the responsibility that the citizens have entrusted to him. Thunderous applause from those present who hope for the “Rebirth” of the area. Applause also from the opposition. Prime Minister elected. Girolamo Stellato will fill this role.

The mayor then also announced the composition of the council formed by Antonietta Nacca, deputy mayor with responsibilities for Budget and Taxes, European Funds and Regional Financing; Marinella Stellato, who will deal with Social Policies and Youth Policies; Pasquale Nacca will deal with Heritage, Civil Protection, Municipal Police and Sports; Fabio Cipro with responsibilities for Culture, Associations, Commerce, Productive Activities, Civil Service, Personnel and Digitalization; and finally Michele Lombardi with responsibilities for School Buildings and Roads. The Mayor kept for himself the responsibilities for Public Works and the Environment.

Di Matteo has also entrusted delegations to the majority city councilors: Urban Planning to Angelo Morrone; Education and School Canteen to Carmela Natale; Litigation to Pasqualino Nacca; Cemetery to Carla Di Caprio; and Events and Shows to Lisa Ventriglia.

The Mayor, during the Council, declared: “I will be the Mayor of all. I said it during the election campaign and so it will be. I am pleased that this message has reached not only my voters but also those who did not vote for us and who in these days have approached me to congratulate me, wishing me to do well for our territory. I will commit myself to Macerata Campania humility and wisdom, commitment and determination”.

Representing the minority on the Council are Stefano Antonio Cioffi, Andrea Di Matteo, Maria Assunta D’Orso, Lucia Aiello and Melania Eviano.
