Parking spaces sold out since early morning

Great turnout, from the early hours of the morning, on the coastal beaches on the occasion of the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Many Romans crowded the beaches of Ostia, Fiumicino, Fregene, Focene, Maccarese, Passoscuro and other locations.

Since 10am, in Fiumicino, the parking lots along the seafront and in the large parking lot in Piazzale Molinari were sold out. A fallback towards more internal roads is therefore necessary. The service was active at Fiumicino “To the seaside by bus” with five LPT lines that interchange with car parks and the three railway stations in the area. The restaurants and bistros were also full of visitors.

The local police of Fiumicino have deployed traffic patrols and anti-parking checks. In the afternoon, as expected, there was an early “flight” from the beaches to return home in time to attend, at 6pm, the round of 16 match of the European Championships between Italy and Switzerland. On the Salute seafront, in Isola Sacra, however, there are those who wanted to seize the opportunity of the giant screen set up by the municipal administration, at the “Sports Village” to cheer on the Azzurri.

And right on the same Lungomare beach there was the first day of the “Serene Beaches” health education initiative: at the station many bathers received information material and participated in the demonstration on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and unblocking techniques of the upper airways, exercising on a dummy, as well as receiving information on correct lifestyle and health.
