Slips from the trampoline from 3 meters high, head injury for a 7 year old boy

CREMONA – He slipped from the three meter high diving board of the 33 meter long pool at Baldesio. The indecision about whether to dive or not was enough to cause a a 7-year-old boy suffered a head injury and a broken wrist, under the astonished eyes of those present, including the parents. All this happened this afternoon before 3pm in a quiet Baldesio, suspended in the sultry and gray atmosphere of an afternoon at the end of June.

The child was diving with other children his age, but the uncertainty of whether to jump or not was ‘fatal’ and the consequent fall, due to the attempt to stop prematurely and the sudden stop that did not have a grip on the slippery diving board. Those who saw the fall feared the worst: the child hit his chin and arms against the edge. The lifeguard who was supervising the pool intervened immediately, helping the child.

Witnesses and then medical personnel assured that the little boy never lost consciousness and was always alert, although understandably in pain and scared. Consoling him were his parents and the many present who witnessed a fall that made people fear the worst. In the meantime, the call to 118 and the air ambulance saw medical personnel intervene quickly and ascertain the child’s condition.
