Statement by Massimo Mezzetti, Mayor of Modena
The attack directed by Forza Italia’s deputy regional coordinator, Antonio Platis, against Dr. Alessandra Camporota, is decidedly disorganized and institutionally ungrammatical. Furthermore, Platis and, if he were to answer the truth, FI’s group leader in the Senate, Maurizo Gasparri, intend to contact the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi asking him to intervene. Doing so would seriously embarrass him. In fact, it is worth remembering that it was Minister Piantedosi himself, still in the midst of his duties as Prefect of Rome, who accepted the position of Minister of the Meloni government. It was October 22, 2022.
At that time we did not register any protests from the areas of the current zealous protesters.
It is also worth noting that Dr. Camporota, before accepting my proposal, informed the Chief of Cabinet of the Minister, and that she is currently on vacation. A behavior fully respectful of the institution for a servant of the State who has decided to dedicate herself to our city.
During the period that Dr. Camporota is on vacation and that separates her from her final leave from her position, the functions are carried out by the Deputy Prefect, guaranteeing the Prefecture of Modena full operability.
