Mondo Convenienza, an Italian company leader in the large-scale distribution of furniture and with the best quality-price ratio on the market, announces today the opening of a new store in Palermo which will offer job opportunities to one hundred and ten new collaborators and represents a total investment of approximately 35 million euros on the Sicilian territory made with local companies and workers.

The actual staff of the store, located in Viale della Regione Sicilia northwest 4740 with over 3,500 m2 of surface area, will be a total of 147 collaborators between salespeople and managersof which 117 are women (including the store manager), all trained in recent months by Mondo Convenienza thanks to 61,000 hours of ad hoc training courses.

The induced effect of the delivery, assembly and handling services of goods at the warehouse in Via Ercole in Carini will also involve the use of a further 230 resources between direct employees and service company employees allowing the company to continue a growth and expansion strategy in Sicily, where it has already been present since 2014 in Catania and, more recently, also with ministores in Palermo.

The inauguration event was held this morning in the presence of the Founder of Mondo Convenienza, Giovan Battista Carosiand representatives of local institutions and businesses, as well as the company’s management team.

The store incorporates cutting-edge technological solutions aimed at making the shopping experience pleasant and fluid: all salespeople will be equipped with tablets to accompany customers in choosing products in the showroom and high-resolution PCs for the design of personalized environments, as well as rapid self-service checkouts. Furthermore, the entire building was designed in compliance with the principles of sustainable architecture, and pays particular attention to the environment, providing electric charging stations and a 125 kWp photovoltaic system to produce clean energy and reduce consumption and waste.

“The opening of the new store in Palermo represents a fundamental stage in the company consolidation process which places people and Made in Italy at the centre. This is an investment with positive impacts on the local economy, both in terms of employment and related activities deriving from the activity. Also in view of the important milestone of forty years of activity in 2025, the opening is part of an investment and expansion plan of our industrial model based on Made in Italy not only in Italy but also beyond national borders, as demonstrates the opening of three sales points in Spain” he has declared John Baptist Carosi, Founder of Mondo Convenienza.

“With the opening of this new store, we aim to provide the people of Palermo with custom-made furniture, affordable and with an Italian style. The store offers the possibility of touching the products with your own hands, of being inspired to imagine your own environments and of being accompanied in the choice by expert consultants at their disposal during the purchase but even more so during the delivery and in the after-sales service” he has declared Federica Barberis, Sales Manager of Mondo Convenienza. “The Mondo Convenienza sales model pursues an omnichannel strategy, based on digitalisation and attention to sustainability and the environment, and finds a perfect transposition in this store. In fact, we adopt measures to make buildings increasingly sustainable through concrete measures, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels that produce energy from renewable sources intended for self-consumption, and we invest in digital to allow collaborators and customers a pleasant, simple and fast, thanks not only to assisted sales with tablets and the setting up of automatic checkouts to pay independently but also to the development of remote channels such as eCom, video calls and the innovative Dolce Casa home consultancy service, all already active in Palermo” he concluded Barberis.
