Voting operations concluded on Sunday regarding the 2023 Participatory Budget of the Municipality of Campobasso, an instrument of direct democracy that promotes citizen participation in local public policies and, in particular, in the body’s budget. Eleven proposals were admitted to the selection within the four thematic areas indicated in the first phase of the initiative: urban furniture and decoration; spaces, green areas and environmental policies; cultural and sporting activities; educational and youth policies and disabilities.
Compared to last year, the online consultations have favoured a great participation: 4027 votes were cast, of which 3512 were valid, which decreed the victory, with 661 preferences, of the project “Cultural route for the Santo Stefano hamlet”.
The winning project, proposed by APS Tratturando, involves the installation of 8 information signs along the streets of the hamlet with information on the history, geography, traditions and traditional dishes. The cultural route will be integrated with the construction of a commemorative stele in Colle San Pietro, the place where Amedeo VI of Savoy, known as the Green Count, died on 1 March 1383, and with the construction of a fountain in Piazza Santa Maria di Loreto to replace the old fountain. In addition, toilets will be built in Piazza Lavatoio.
