Saudi Arabia wants to treat itself to a crack in Reims

After raiding some of Europe’s best players last season, Saudi Arabia could have changed its sights this summer. Indeed, after having managed to sign N’Golo Kanté, Karim Benzema, Neymar, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, the Saudis could look at younger players in order to strengthen the attractiveness of the championship. If pre-retired players still interest the Gulf country with the arrival of Nacho and the rumors concerning Kevin De Bruyne, Rudy Galletinous learned this Saturday that new regulations should facilitate the arrival of young hopefuls.

Saudi Arabia wants Diakité

Indeed, the Saudi Pro League does not allow clubs to have as many foreign players as they want and are limited to ten non-Saudi players in their squad. But a new regulation has just been adopted by the federation which now allows them to sign two additional players, provided that they are 20 years old or younger. This is why the Saudi state could look into the case of Oumar Diakite from Stade de Reims. Aged just 20, the Ivorian has become an important element of the Reims team with his 28 Ligue 1 matches played for five goals scored and one assist distributed. As a reminder, Diakite notably won the Africa Cup of Nations this season with Côte d’Ivoire, scoring a goal in the quarter-final against Mali.

As a supporter of En Avant de Guingamp, the best of the Breton clubs, I prefer to meet Yannis Salibur, Cristophe Kerbrat or Jeremy Sorbon rather than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Sergio Ramos.
