From 28th to 30th June many events in program a Roma on the occasion of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patron saints of the city. The celebrations they involve a journey into the heart of the Eternal City, one theathral show and a vigil of prayer, promoted by the vicariates of the diocese of Rome and the Vatican City, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Roma Capitale, CONI and with Panathlon International Agro Romano. The program of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul

Friday 28th the prayer vigil in St. Peter’s Basilica at 9pm; Saturday 29th is scheduled for «Quo Vadis», a walk-event that touches on the historical stages of the presence of the two apostles in the City; finally, on June 30th, there is «Peter and Paul in Rome», the theatrical show by and with Michele La Ginestra.

The «Quo Vadis» path

The urban path «Quo Vadis» will cross all the places linked to the two apostles, from San Sebastiano Fuori le Mura to Santa Prisca, from the Mamertine Prison to Santa Maria in Via Lata. It will be possible to choose between two routes, one longer and the other shorter. At the end of the walk the participants will be given a «pebbles»symbol of the journey completed that connects Peter, Rome and its streets. An opportunity to rediscover or visit for the first time many places, including the Colosseum Archaeological Parkwhich is free to visit for participants.

The itinerary touches on the historical “stages” of the presence of the Apostle Peter in Rome, intertwining with the “roads” and the story of Saint Paul. Starting from 2025, the year of the Jubilee, a “race” on the same route is also planned.

Participants at the beginning of the course will receive the «passport of the Apostle”At each stage a stamp will be placed and anyone who wants can stop to visit the place, receive information and meditate on the history of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Upon arrival, with the last stamp, participants will receive a pebble with the writing of the year, which can change every year and which the Pope will bless.

The theater show at San Pietro

Sunday 30th, at 9pm, in the atrium of the basilica of Saint Peter will be staged there theathral show “Peter and Paul in Rome”, direct Roberto Marafante, which will tell the story of the years in which the two saints were together in the Capital. Playing the role of Peter will be Michele La Ginestra, While Augustus Fornari will play Paolo.

Buses diverted and roads closed

From 11am on Friday (and until no longer needed on Sunday 30 June), he will come closed to vehicular traffic Ostiense Street in the stretch and direction between Emperor Justinian Street and go Julius Rocco. Divert lines 23 – 769 – 792 – nMB – nME. They will travel along via Baldelli, viale and Lungotevere di San Paolo and via Ostiense, skipping a total of three stops on via Ostiense.
