VARESE – It kicked off last night, Friday 28 June, with the prologue of the trophy dedicated to the figure of former president Enzo Bellardi. It opened in a nocturnal setting 33rd Tre Laghi Cup and Varese-Campo dei Fioribetween the ascent to the Sacro Monte and the taxiing on the runway of the Calcinate del Pesce Gliding Flight (in the photo below). It continues throughout the weekend with two stages between the capital, the lakes and the valleys. The event is organized by the Varese Auto Moto Storiche Club.
The stages
At 12.30 today, Saturday 29 Junethere will be it start from Varese center: therefore 150 km between Valcuvia, Lake Maggiore, Lake Monate, Somma Lombardo, Azzate and Castiglione Olona. Match race in the evening in the city center garden. We continue tomorrow, Sunday 30starting from the Estensi Gardens at 8.30 and then Valganna, Porto Ceresio and two circuits of Luino. Arrival at the Palace Hotel from 12.30. in total there will be over 40 the municipalities touched by the routes. The novelty of the Coppa Tre Laghi light is appreciated, a walk with the historic cars without climbs or descents, an easy route and guided visits to the museums of Laveno, Luino and Maccagno, with the passion for historic motoring that promotes the territory. This year the competition celebrates in the center of Varese the designer Marcello Gandini with Lancia Stratos and Autobianchi Runabout. His pencil also generated Miura, Countach, Montreal and other models for Bertone.
Almost 100 cars at the start

Then the Jaguar XK 150 Ots, Jaguar E-Type spider and coupé and Lancia Flavia Coupé e. Among the sportswomen wide range of Porsche models: 356, 911, 912 and 914, as well as four examples registered by Karmann Ghia Club Italia, three Mini Coopers, three Mercedes 250 Pagodas and as many Triumph TR3s.
Art and motors in the shops
On the occasion of the race the Artists’ Circle of Varese in collaboration with the Club Vams it promoted an art exhibition spread across around twenty shops in the center of Varese. Works inspired by the world of motorswhich will be on display until July.
