Serie B: Vivarini to Frosinone. Now Catanzaro can focus on Bianco

Yesterday, one of the three missing boxes was checked in the Serie B coaching grid that will start on August 16. Vincenzo Vivarini will be the new coach of Frosinone. The long-running dispute with Catanzaro, to which the coach from Abruzzo was linked, has been resolved. “Thanks to a gentlemen’s agreement between the presidents Floriano Noto and Maurizio Stirpe of Frosinone Calcio – the Calabrian club explained in a note – , an agreement has been reached for the consensual termination of the contract with coach Vincenzo Vivarini and his entire work group composed of assistant coach Andrea Milani, athletic trainer Antonio Del Fosco and goalkeeping coach Fabrizio Zambardi. US Catanzaro wishes the coach and his staff the best of luck in their careers”. Vivarini is expected in Frosinone next Monday, when he will sit at the desk of president Maurizio Stirpe and sign a two-year contract with the yellow and blue club. It was not an easy decision also because he and the technical director were busy trying to understand the intentions of Eusebio Di Francesco, very attached to the environment and shaken by a shocking relegation to which until a few days ago he did not know how to react, whether with the desire for a quick redemption in Ciociaria or elsewhere. The second hypothesis prevailed: Venezia in Serie A.

strategies and market

Stirpe himself in the program conference at the start of the season had on one hand reassured the environment and on the other set the strategic stakes for the new season: “Just as in recent years – explained the president – it will be essential to close the budget in balance clearly exploiting the parachute that is there for the teams that are relegated from A to B. At the same time, however, it is obvious that the team with which we will present ourselves at the start of the new season will be competitive as it has been in recent years. The quality of Frosinone will not have any decline both in terms of the company and the players”. Here then is the transfer plan that follows that of last season, with Juventus loans to be valorized. Two names: the 2005 midfielder Joseph Ngonge and Emanuele Pecorino, a 22-year-old striker returning from Südtirol.

the other two

And Catanzaro? They want to close with the new coach by Tuesday, but after Alberto Aquilani’s refusal, the hunt for Vivarini’s successor is still ongoing and the sporting director Ciro Polito has been in Milan for days for this very reason. Aquilani is said to have said no, perhaps because he is not fully convinced on a technical level given the probable sales of Vandeputte (Cremonese in pole position over Palermo and Salernitana) and Fulignati (contested between Cremonese and Palermo). After a first attempt with Eugenio Corini, the name of Paolo Bianco, formerly of Modena, is still up for grabs, but it cannot be ruled out that Polito will draw a surprise card from the deck among those who have already worked with Polito (Fabio Caserta) or perhaps with a name that has remained secret until now. Pisa is in the triad of “without a bench” but with the choice of the new sporting director Davide Vaira, formerly of Modena, Pippo Inzaghi’s signature will arrive shortly.
