TERAMO. You speak in the courtroom as the offended party and in front of the judge you tell how “because of this situation I had to go to the psychologist”.
The businessman Franco Iachiniformer president of Teramo Calcio, lists facts and circumstances for over an hour. He does so in the trial in which the 62-year-old Alfredo Napolitani is accused of stalking and aggravated defamation against him. Napolitani is one of the fans of Teramo football club best known in the media thanks to his frequent television appearances in many sports programs as a commentator and for his assiduous presence on social media. And it is precisely for a series of posts that appeared on Facebook against the former president of the red and whites that Napolitani (defended by lawyers Anthony Valentini e In the Sabatino) is on trial before the single judge Emanuel Ursini.
Iachini, who became a civil party (assisted by the lawyer Fabrizio Acronzio), was heard yesterday in his capacity as injured party and retraced the main stages of his presidency of the red and white team.
“When Covid broke out,” he said, “many things changed, the sponsorships stopped coming. I asked the mayor for interventions because there was a gentlemen’s agreement. I was burning my family’s money and no one else was contributing. I must say that from that moment on, the fans’ mood started to change towards me. The most excited was Napolitano, whom I have known since we were kids. He is a commentator who is also very popular, as are his posts on social media. I sued him when I really couldn’t take it anymore. For the fans, I was forced to leave Teramo to go and live in Giulianova. I still live with the protection of the police because of 40, 50 rotten elements. One evening a fan came to me and said: either you change cities or I’ll cut your throat.”
