Safe Parks. Work continues at Monti Perticari

I continue works at Monti Perticari parkthe fourth green area to be included in the Safe Parks project carried out by the municipal administration starting from the previous mandate. The works, which began in the first days of March, have now moved towards the middle of the park, which will never be completely closed to allow residents to use the green area. The workers are proceeding to complete the internal pedestrian paths.

The works on the side of via Angelini are finished and we are therefore continuing with the connection of the area with via Monti Perticari. Once the pedestrian paths are finished, the construction of the wall will be completed and, after the conclusion of the latter, we will proceed with taking the measurements to install the fences.

On Thursday, June 27, a resident reported the presence of empty bottles and decay near the benches in the area not yet affected by the works. The Municipality of Ferrara, through the Environmental Service, promptly informed Hera, which that same day proceeded to remove the bottles and clean the park.

“The work in the Monti Perticari park is proceeding at full speed – explained Councilor Nicola Lodi – and by the end of the summer we should already be able to see the fruits of these months. I thank the citizen who reported the presence of waste in the non-construction area. That same day we took action to have the workers remove bottles and plastic bags left on the ground by uncivilized people. I know the situation in the green area well because it has been going on since before I took office, five years ago. Precisely for this reason we have included the area of via Monti Perticari in the Safe Parks project. As happened with Coletta, Toti and Bruno, the fences are essential to ensure that these episodes do not happen again, so that children and families can play safely and so that the parks can be cleaned in the evening by the workers. It is unfortunate that the green area has been used for election campaigning, in recent months, with rather heavy tones”.

The total cost of the redevelopment amounts to 450 thousand euros, according to the Three-Year Public Works Program 2023-2025. The works, specifically, include the installation of galvanized and painted iron fences on a concrete wall, pedestrian and vehicular access for maintenance, inclusive access without architectural barriers located at the ends of the park and joined by a path in non-slip washed concrete, direct connection to the outdoor fitness gym area, fountain and street furniture, children’s play area, internal public lighting present and strengthened, the resurfacing of existing sidewalks on the overlooking streets, the creation of accessible pedestrian paths that will connect the road axes starting from the pedestrian gates, interventions on urban greenery and public lighting, always oriented towards maintenance, restoration or increase of the decorum of the municipal public areas. Works aimed at containing, deterring or preventing acts of vandalism or that compromise the decorum of the areas are also included. The company carrying out the works is Tecno Estense srl based in Tresignana. The works, barring unforeseen events and adverse weather conditions, will end between September and October 2024.
