The monthly convivial evening of the Viterbo Panathlon Club was a success and was hosted at the Vetralla shooting venue which for the occasion made the Olympic shooting specialties known at one of its stands. Mauro Tommasini, president of the Vetrallese clay shooting sports club, now a solid reality since 1985, presented, together with Benedetto Barberini (Fitav Technical Commissioner), the current winner of the Skeet World Cup Simona to the Panathletic members in attendance with their families. Scocchetti is part of the Army sports group which carries out training on this field in view of upcoming international commitments. During the practical demonstration of Skeet shooting offered by Simona, she did not miss any targets, thus demonstrating her preparation. The vice European Combined Shooting champion Gianluca Anzuini did the same and made the “pit clay pigeon” specialty known practically in the field. During the convivial event, after the presentation made by the president of the Panathlon Club Viterbo Giancarlo Bandini of the evening’s guests, they were given the floor to tell their sporting story. Benedetto Barberini underlined how Fitav is interested in disabled sports as he is the technical commissioner, then the president of Tav Vetralla described the developments of the facility which, in addition to the federal interest, counts on having hundreds of members. Simona Scocchetti, current winner of the World Cup in Rabat (Morocco), then spoke about her career, after obtaining a silver medal in 2023 in Cairo and a bronze in Doha, as well as gold in the mixed team and individual women’s team and in the women’s team again last year, and a silver in the same specialty. The shooter Sara Birelli was present, who at 18 years old is already the Italian combined shooting champion and winner of the Italian Cup, always outdoor combined shooting. Confirmation of an interest even among very young people in this important Olympic sport. Undoubtedly, Gianluca Anzuini’s presence in the Tav volleyball club was a lesson. The guests, Tav managers and their athletes were given a souvenir of the panathletic evening. The dissemination of clay shooting among young people and disabled people was part of the program of the Panathlon Club of Viterbo. The testimonies of the technical commissioner Barberini and the presence of the young Sara Birelli were the demonstration that this sport is today for everyone.
