TRIESTE – “We chose Trieste because it is a center of great culture, one of the most important centers in Europe for research. An ideal place also because it is traditionally a meeting place for different cultures, for coexistence. This being together will characterize today: deciding together, we who represent countries that are particularly significant in the field of history, economy and society”. Thus the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditarathis morning in Trieste, after welcoming the delegations arriving at the Palazzo della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, for thestart of work of the G7 Education.
Deciding together for the future of our schools, our youth, our teachers: I believe it is the right word – continues the representative of the Meloni government – hence the idea of giving strength to the education personalization concept, which will be one of the topics we will discuss today.” And, again, we will talk about “valorization of the talents of every young person because we strongly believe in this plurality of intelligences: every young person has an opportunity, we must not leave anyone behind, this is the primary purpose of the school. And, then, the valorization of teachers, giving them authority”.

ENHANCE TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

“If we really want to give opportunities to our young people, to all talents, we must also enhance technical and professional education. The centrality of the relationship between school, the world of work and the business world is another strong theme of this G7“. The minister does not forget “artificial intelligence, new forms of increasingly inclusive teaching to overcome school dropout which is increasingly widespread and disturbing”. Finally, Valditara underlines that “this G7 must end with a strong emphasis on concreteness”.

WE WILL TAKE CHARGE OF THE RECONSTRUCTION IN UKRAINE

“We propose to take charge of the reconstruction of schools, libraries, infrastructures to be able to make the young Ukrainians of the future. Because the future and freedom start first of all from culture“. Thus the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, after welcoming his counterparts from the G7 countries, and with them the ambassador of Ukraine, in Piazza Unità, Yaroslav Melnyk. The Minister of Education of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, will instead participate in the G7 Education in Trieste via video link.

“THE PRESENCE OF THE AFRICAN UNION IS IMPORTANT”

“I believe that the presence of the representative of the African Union is important. It is a significant bridge that we are launching in compliance with the Mattei Plan, but also because we strongly believe in ever stronger and ever more intense dialogue with African countries. This year, among other things, is the year of education for the African Union”. This was underlined by the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, shortly after receiving the representative of the African Union Tidiane Ouattara, together with the delegations of the G7 countries.

“FROM TRIESTE A BRIDGE TO G20 IN BRAZIL”

“The presence and the message that the Brazilian Minister of Education will give us is also important, because once again we want to build a bridge towards the next G20 which will take place next autumn in Brazil. So from Trieste, from what we will decide today, I hope there can be some important ideas for the next G20 too”.
Thus the Minister of Education after welcoming the head of the Education office of the Brazilian embassy, Fernanda Maria Rocha Soares dos Santos.
