This is confirmed by the great success of the fourth edition of the workshop “Puglia, a way of life” which was held in the conference room of the Foreign Press Association at Palazzo Grazioli in Rome.
During the workshop it has emerged that economic data highlights constant growth since 2019with a GDP increasing by 6.1%, making Puglia the most dynamic region in Italy.
Goals for the future include strengthening industrialization, internationalization, innovation, the fight against brain drain and the valorisation of lesser-known tourist destinations.
The workshop was attended, among others, by the general director of Svimez Luke Bianchithe regional councillor for tourism Gianfranco Lopanethe councilor for Culture and Legality Viviana Matrangolathe director of the Department of Tourism Aldo Patrunothe director of Economic Development Gianna Elisa Berlingeriothe president of the Apulian public theatre Paul Pontius and the head of institutional communication of the Puglia Region Rocco DeFranchi.
A strong identity and a rich tourist offer
Puglia boasts a unique cultural heritagemade of traditions, suggestive landscapes and authentic villages. The seaside tourism is enriched with activities such as water sports, boating and cruising. The region is also an ideal destination for the sustainable outdoor tourismwith trekking and cycling routes and dedicated accommodation facilities.
Culture and well-being at the centre
The Puglia Region has recently approved the “Apulian Manifesto of Cultural Welfare“, which aims to integrate culture and well-being. The objective is to enhance the intangible heritage and create an economy of culture that improves people’s lives.
Investments and innovation
They were run over over 6 billion in European funds, of which 1.6 billion in tourism and culture, sectors that represent a fifth of the regional GDP. The Region aims to attract talent through targeted strategies on research, development and innovation.
Effective communication and concrete successes
Puglia has managed to shake off negative stereotypes and position itself as land of opportunitythanks to transparent and effective communication. Among the virtuous cases presented during the workshop, the Itria Valley Festival of Martina Franca and the exhibition “G7: Seven Centuries of Italian Art“.
