“Thanks to the Meloni Government, new important, historic resources for water infrastructure are arriving. Among the financed measures, 50 million euros arrive in Puglia, all destined for the province of Foggia”. Deputy Giandonato La Salandra made this known.
The infrastructural interventions concern the dam on the Carapellotto torrent in Palazzo d’Ascoli, in the countryside of Ascoli Satriano, additional works of the Gargano Nord water scheme – Medium term – New Ingarano reservoir, the relocation of the Manfredonia lifting plant, to serve of the Coppa Pilla compensation reservoir, the Monte Sant’Angelo reservoir and the Alto di San Giovanni Rotondo reservoir.
The funding responds to the various emergencies of extraordinary maintenance plans, both for existing reservoirs and for the distribution network, through planning measures attentive to the protection of agriculture and the environment.
In recent years, the country’s various emergencies have been joined by those due to climate change and the effects that these cause, from drought to floods.
And 2024 is becoming a year with extreme episodes linked to drought in Southern Italy and floods in the North, with important consequences for the agricultural world. “An important and unprecedented piece of news: approximately 1 billion euros immediately for infrastructural interventions for the safety of the water sector, throughout the Italian territory, in the wake of the fight against the drought emergency, which has been a fundamental point of the Meloni government’s work from the very beginning”, comments the Honorable member of Fratelli d’Italia La Salandra.
