The organizational machinery of the Municipality of Siena is already active in view of the days of the Palio on July 2nd; the Municipal Police is among the city’s points of reference, not only for security and public order in collaboration with other law enforcement forces and other institutions, but is also available to the community and tourists for any need or requirement.

“We have always had a strong bond with Siena and with the whole community – comments the Acting Commander of the Municipal Police Alfredo Zanchi – which is transmitted with a constant and passionate commitment even during the days of the Palio. As always, we will be available to the city, at the service of its traditions, its culture and its history, through the experience of the longest-serving members of the Corps and the enthusiasm of those who are approaching the days of the Festival for the first time. Personally, it will also be a particular emotion because he will take on this important role after many years of experience in the Traffic Police”.

“The Municipal Police – explains the councilor for the Municipal Police Enrico Tucci – is at the service of Siena and the Sienese every day, but it is also thanks to their work that this city can boast of a festival with such profound values as the Palio. Dedication and attachment to the community are sublimated precisely in these days, in which the contribution of the Corps is indispensable. For this reason, I would like to thank the great work of the Municipal Police and all the support services.”

There will be a total of sixty-four women and men of the Municipal Police involved in the days of the Palio: the Commander will be supported by fifty-six agents and seven officials.
