The Asp of Palermo reorganizes the integrated home care system (Adi), adapting it to the innovations introduced by the Pnrr. The guidelines to follow and apply were the theme of the meeting between the general director, Daniela Faraoni, and the health director, Franco Cerrito with the directors and managers of the socio-health units of the company districts and PTAs and the accredited and affiliated providers for home services. Also present were the heads of the Department and the Socio-Health Integration Unit of the Asp.
During the meeting it was underlined that the most recent ministerial and regional regulatory guidelines foresee that the creation of a true local healthcare assistance implies a qualitative and quantitative increase in the healthcare activities to be provided at home, with the consequent shift of healthcare services from the hospital to the patient’s home.
“It is important – said the general director of the ASP of Palermo, Daniela Faraoni – to frame home care in the broader context of proximity medicine, which provides for virtuous interaction with the community hospital and community homes, under the direction of the Cot (Territorial Operations Centers, ed.) recently and completely established in the Company (there are 12 at the ASP of Palermo, all already active, ed.). The simplified and rapid interaction between the multiple actors of patient care will, in fact, allow the achievement of objectives aimed at improving care systems”.
