President Marrese: «after completion the artery will be modernized after some problems with the contract»
The works contracted by the Province of Matera continue on the SP 271 Matera-Santeramo, an artery that connects the province and the territory of Matera to nearby Puglia. The safety intervention is financed with FSC 2014-2020 funds as part of the so-called “Pact for the development of the Basilicata Region” for a total of approximately 3 million euros. «The works – declared President Marrese – resumed after the contractual termination was applied to the company that had won the contract. Now, however, the contract has been entrusted to a new company that is carrying out the intervention which consists in making safe an absolutely important artery for Matera and its territory, connected by this road to the neighboring province of Bari. As always, I thank the technical office for their collaboration, also in the phase relating to the remodulation of the contract, as well as the vice-president of the Province of Matera, Emanuele Pilato, the councilor delegated for roads, Francesco Mancini, and the provincial councilor of the territory, Carmine Alba. The Province of Matera continues its mission to modernize the road network under its jurisdiction, together with the search for funds given the problems that the Delrio reform has brought about in terms of lack of resources and personnel”.
