Serie D, Lorenzo Chiti from Prato leaves again from Luparense

Prato, 27 June 2024 – One of his goals proved decisive in ensuring that San Donato Tavarnelle achieved salvation early, a few weeks ago. But a season as a starter, during which it didn’t take him long to become a cornerstone of the team, was not enough for him to return to the professional ranks: Lorenzo Chiti will remain in D, even if he will try to rise with his new club. The central defender from Prato has in fact signed a contract with Luparense, the sports club from San Martino di Lupari (Padua) at the starting line of the 2024/25 Serie D. The player born in 2001 also made 20 appearances in Serie C with L’Aquila Montevarchi during his career, after wearing the Avellino shirt (always in the third division). His palmarès includes two editions of the Coppa Italia Primavera won during his time with Fiorentina’s youth team, even though he never had the opportunity to make his debut with the first team. At twenty-three years old last January, Chiti in any case has ample room for improvement and dreams of returning to the “pro” ranks: who knows, he might win him over with the Venetian team. “The choice to come to San Martino was born when the sporting director and the coach called me: they proposed that I be part of this project and I accepted with enthusiasm, especially given the trust and esteem they immediately showed me. – said the person concerned during the presentation – personally I expect to find an ideal environment to give the best of myself, in an ambitious club where I would like to win. We will try to have a high-ranking championship.”
