Florence, 3 July 2024 – L‘Italian as a language of study and a language of culture it is at the center of international encounters ‘Italianists of the world’ scheduled for Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 July at the University of Florence, as part of the events for the centenary of the University. The initiative, promoted by the Association of Italianists (ADI), is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Letters and Philosophy and the Aldo Palazzeschi Study Center of the University of Florence and will bring together scholars and professors of Italian language and literature from 30 associations and 39 universities from all over the world, from Argentina to New Zealand, from South Korea to South Africa, from Norway to Japan.

The meeting is hosted in theGreat Hall of the Rectorate in Florence (reserved for members and available in live streaming on the Palazzeschi centre’s YouTube channel). The two days, explains the Florentine University, “arises from the common need to address problems and share perspectives related to the teaching of Italian language, literature and culture. The objective is to take stock of the wide range of educational proposals and scientific, with a view to agreeing on common paths, encouraging exchanges and shared projects and relaunching the study of disciplines belonging to the area of ​​Italian studies”.
