“The works foreseen by the contract for the supply and placement of street furniture elements throughout the city have begun in agreement with the Municipalities”. This was communicated by the councilor for Urban Furnishings and Public Greens, Massimiliano Minutoli, to inform citizens of the ongoing interventions, which will redevelop existing spaces that are deteriorated and damaged by unknown persons.

“It is an intervention that we had planned for some time and which we are already repeating with the start of the second similar project to arrange further play and leisure areas”, declared the mayor Federico Basile.

Games and benches

The contract includes the replacement of old games and benches in areas identified in agreement with the Municipalities and has already begun in the IV^ Municipality in via Torrente Trapani basso. Some new games have been placed and in a few days the new flat and cage swing seats will be replaced and placed, as well as the supply and placement of an inclusive seat. Today, interventions have begun in Pezzolo in the 1^ Municipality to redevelop a space intended for an equipped area in which the supply and placement of a 2-panel game in 100% recyclable material is planned, the supply and placement of a swing with a flat seat and a cradle seat, the supply and placement of a turret slide and 4 benches.

The contract, expected to amount to 214 thousand euros, was awarded to the Savino Palma company of Avellino and subcontracted for the installation to C-Commerce srl of Raccuja for the amount of 168 thousand euros.

Street furniture

However, the contract for the maintenance of street furniture throughout the city is already underway. The Gullifà company was awarded the “Emergency Response and Maintenance of Street Furniture” contract for the amount of 166 thousand euros and the renovation of the wooden benches in Piazza Cutugno in Ganzirri, the arrangement of the benches positioned on the Grotte seafront, the assembly of 4 fitness equipment recovered from Villa Dante thus integrating the existing equipment at Villa Sabin, reassembly of benches torn down in Camaro Superiore near the ATM stop and the redevelopment of the Altolia benches.

“It is clear that some interventions would not have been necessary if there had not been scattered acts of vandalism. Greater collaboration from citizens is needed to prevent these episodes which fortunately are rare”, commented councilor Minutoli.
