FlixBus strengthens its offer on Novara for the summer: it will be connected to over 80 cities in Italy and abroad

With the summer, FlixBus strengthens connections with Novara and expands the number of trips available to destinations such as seaside, mountain and historical-cultural interest destinations. In this way, the company wants to multiply the offer available for those leaving from the city and encourage a more environmentally friendly travel idea, based on the use of collective means of transport.

Throughout the summer Novara will be connected to over 80 cities in Italy and abroad. Tickets can be purchased on the site, via the free FlixBus app and in physical retailers.

For those heading to the sea, there are first and foremost direct routes towards the Romagna Riviera: Rimini is connected up to seven times a week, both in the center and at the towns of Marebello, Rivazzurra and Miramare, and Riccione, Cattolica and Misano can also be reached without changes Adriatic. Among the other destinations connected on the Adriatic side, there are Pesaro, Senigallia, Ortona and Termoli.

Connections with Calabria are also being strengthened: here you can reach from Novara, among others, Sibari, Strongoli Marina and Cirò Marina, reachable up to seven times a week.

Those who prefer the mountains to the sea will be able to arrive without changes in Val d’Aosta, where FlixBus allows you to arrive in Aosta (up to 28 times a week) or Courmayeur (up to 14) or in Trentino-Alto Adige, where Trento, Bolzano, Rovereto and Merano can be reached up to 14 times a week. Those who love the lake will be able to take advantage of up to seven connections a week with Peschiera del Garda.

For those who prefer cities of art and destinations of historical-cultural interest, FlixBus has strengthened connections between Novara and destinations such as Lanciano and Benevento, also in line with the desire to contribute to the deconcentration of tourist flows and the promotion of the areas internal, which the public debate has recognized as possible development hubs for more sustainable lifestyles.

Furthermore, the city sees strengthened connections with foreign countries: every week, for example, up to seven services will leave for Frankfurt, Lugano and Zurich. Among the connected foreign destinations, there is also Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. For those who ultimately have to reach their tourist destination with long-haul flights, services to Milan Malpensa airport remain operational, reachable up to 12 times a week.

«We want to allow anyone to move around easily, leaving the car at home, with an eye on the wallet but also on the environment», said Andrea Incondi, Managing Director of FlixBus Italia. «This summer too, in addition to strengthening connections with the most iconic holiday locations, we also wanted to promote lesser-known destinations to help enhance the national heritage to the fullest. In this way, we also want to respond to the changing needs of those who travel: today people are increasingly looking for virtuous and responsible forms of travel, and want to experience their destination in an immersive way. By shedding light on the hidden gems of our country, we want to support this vision,” added Incondi.

There are around 300 Italian cities that can be reached on green buses. Of these, approximately 40% are municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants: by guaranteeing connections also with various smaller centres, FlixBus intends to facilitate people’s movements even towards locations that are less easily reachable from other regions.

How to reconcile sustainability and cost-effectiveness? The bus as a possible solution

When considering emission factors in Europe, a personal car produces on average 166 grams of CO2 per passenger per km, while a FlixBus bus is characterized by an average emission factor of only 27.8 grams of CO2 per passenger per km , more than 5 times lower.[2]

By preferring the bus to the car, those who travel will be able to reduce their impact at a low cost. The benefits of this approach to the choice of means, which combines the needs of sustainability and cost-effectiveness, can be seen above all in the long term: in 2023, those who preferred FlixBus and FlixTrain to other solutions in the over 40 countries where the company operates, allowed to save over 1 million tons of CO2, of which 152,000 in Italy alone.
