Cremona: Steals ATM from Elderly Man and Goes Shopping, Reported

Milan, 27 June. She stole an elderly man’s ATM card and used it to make payments in various shops in the city. It happened in Soresina, in the Cremona area, where the police identified a woman with a police record against her and reported her on charges of theft and improper use of payment cards.

A few days ago a local man presented himself to the Soresina police, reporting the theft of his wallet. The man explained that he had made a purchase in a store, using his card. Subsequently he realized that his wallet had disappeared, but in the meantime someone had used the payment card to make purchases in various local places, for a total value of over 130 euros. So he provided the police with the data of the businesses where the payments had been made and, once the information was acquired, the military began their investigations.

By going to the commercial activities in question where the purchases had been made, they verified that there were internal surveillance cameras and, by comparing the times of the operations performed with the recorded images, they were able to see the person who had used the card at those moments. The woman immortalized by the cameras was immediately identified because she was already well known to the police. Consequently, she was reported for theft and improper use of the payment card.
