Coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office – District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Reggio Calabria, the financiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, with the support of the Central Organized Crime Investigation Service (SCICO), have implemented a complex operation aimed at seizing assets for a overall value estimated at approximately 5 million euros.

The action, deriving from the operation called “Eyphemos”, previously conducted by the Flying Squad of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters, revealed details of the structure and operational activities of the local ‘Ndrangheta of Sant’Eufemia d’Aspromonte. This group, known for its autonomy from the “Alvaro” gang, was the subject of an in-depth economic and patrimonial investigation.

At the center of the operation is an entrepreneur originally from the province of Reggio Emilia, previously identified as the leader and organizer of a mafia faction within the local ‘Ndrangheta. His responsibilities include planning criminal actions, laundering money from illicit activities and managing a complex system of fictitious asset registrations.

The seizure measure involved an entire company complex, including a sole proprietorship and two companies active in the construction sector, as well as 10 properties distributed between the provinces of Reggio Calabria, Ancona and Pesaro Urbino. The seized assets also include banking, financial, insurance relationships and other financial assets.
