The Sicily Food Festival kicks off in Terrasini: 4 days of taste and tradition

The countdown has begun for the Sicily Food Festival, which will officially open its doors tomorrow, June 27th in Terrasini with the inauguration of the stands. The suggestive terrace of Terrasini, with its breathtaking view of the Gulf of Palermo, will be the setting for the first stage of the ninth edition of one of the most important gastronomic events in Sicily, organized by Sicily Event of Davide Merlino, Ambassador of Gusto Doc Italy and delegate national street food.

For four days, visitors will be able to taste local specialties such as braciole messinesi, sfincione from the ancient Valenti bakery, pane ca meusa, pane e panelle, bubble waffles, patatwister, fried squid coppo, craft beers, bomba dello street (ice cream-filled doughnut), granita, porchetta from black piglet from Nebrodi and Sicilian black truffle.

“This year, the first stage of the Sicily Food Festival will be held in Terrasini and promises to be an event full of surprises – declared Davide Merlino -. The festival celebrates street food by offering a wide range of dishes, both innovative and traditional, from different parts of the island. Each stand will be a real cooking show, with live preparations that will amaze visitors. Events like this not only enhance the richness of our gastronomic culture, but also create moments of sharing and meeting, strengthening the sense of community and enhancing the food and wine excellences that position us among the first in the world”.

The Sicily Food Festival is known for its commitment to sustainability. This year too, the festival will only use recyclable and reusable plastic cups, continuing an eco-sustainable policy which in previous editions has allowed us to save around 3 tonnes of plastic dispersed in the environment.

A prestigious partnership with Cook Magazine, one of the most important sector magazines in Italy, will further enrich this year’s edition. The festival program includes tastings, show cooking, workshops and meetings with renowned chefs. Furthermore, it is possible to purchase “Skip the Line” packages in advance on the website www.sicilyfoodfest.it to enjoy the festival without stress and obtain an immediate discount.
