“The Castellammare di Stabia State Railways station is an identifying element of our city and a fundamental access point for both commuters and tourists. But tradition is defended with innovation: for this reason I am firmly in favor of maintaining and strengthening the railway service in the city and I welcome the online petition launched by my friend Salvatore Vozza. Improving services in the city also means promoting sustainable mobility which cannot burden exclusively the EAV route, which is already overloaded. Furthermore, improving the accessibility and efficiency of public rail transport not only promotes tourism development, but also contributes to the reduction of environmental pollution and the improvement of the quality of life for all citizens” – declared Mayor Luigi Vicinanza.
For the mayor of Castellammare di Stabia: “The Castellammare-Torre Annunziata railway line must be maintained and supported. The idea of reconnecting it to the section towards Gragnano to create a new connection with the Lattari Mountains is welcome, but this clashes with the decision of the Ferrovie dello Stato to replace the section in the period of July and August with a replacement bus service, something that already happens at various times of the day throughout the year. This is what I will ask to discuss in an ad hoc meeting with the top management of RFI.”
