We start again with Conte for Napoli. What conditions are there?
“Conte is synonymous with guarantee, with having taken on a leader of great charisma and competence. He was the best choice to recreate enthusiasm after the disappointments of last season.”
Will the current squad come close to Conte’s ideas or will we see a readjustment by the coach at module level?
“I believe that the squad will be set up for 3-5-2, I don’t think Conte will lose his character. He will start from the compactness and we will need to start building the team from the three central players. Then we will understand what to do with Kvaratskelia and Lukaku, who is of interest as a first striker. I wouldn’t be surprised by the eventual purchase of Chiesa.”
What are the needs of the squad now?
“First of all, Osimhen will leave, here we will need a central striker together with another striker. We will then need to strengthen the wingers, while waiting to understand what to do with Di Lorenzo. He is a very intelligent boy, I am convinced that he can start again with the captain’s armband on his arm. After all, I think Conte has already spoken to the player’s entourage. This means that there is a possibility that he will stay ”.
How much did the great success of a year ago influence this season?
“Repeating is never easy, but finishing tenth is madness. A season like the past one was unexpected for everyone. Having changed coach and director meant that something was already not going well, and what’s more the replacements weren’t up to par.”
Can anything be recovered?
“The arrival of Buongiorno is overdue, it will be an important investment. Maybe together with Marin and Hermoso, who was requested by Conte. In practice, a lot will change in defense, regardless of the future of Natan, Ostigard, Rrahmani and Juan Jesus. However, I would keep these last two.”
