Hit by a heavy vehicle just before getting back on the tow truck at the end of the recovery operation of a broken down vehicle. The rescue efforts of the 118 healthcare staff for Ennio Verducci, 59, who died on Wednesday morning in Perugia, along the E45, proved useless.

He was hit by a courier driving a lorry who did not notice in time the roadside assistance underway on the northern carriageway near Sant’Egidio. Here, we are at km 75, the platform is particularly small and the car that the victim was recovering had stopped just after a curve.
The collision between the heavy vehicle and the 59-year-old was too violent, and he died instantly. The courier at the wheel of the truck was in shock and was taken to the Perugia hospital for all the toxicological tests normally required in the event of a road accident. The Perugia Prosecutor’s Office was informed of yet another death on the roads of Umbria and ordered the seizure of all the vehicles involved.
