Two important delegations from Chinese academic institutions visited the University of Siena in recent days. Rector Roberto Di Pietra met with high representatives of Jiangnan University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), leading academic institutions on the Chinese academic scene.
The meetings were an opportunity to discuss existing partnership agreements in the field of education and research with the two Chinese universities. Both visits, which were held on 18 and 21 June respectively, were promoted and coordinated by Professor Maurizio Pompella, professor of the University’s Department of Business and Legal Studies.
With the delegation from Jiangnan University, the Rector of the University of Siena addressed the topic of possible collaborations with a view to strengthening bilateral relations between the two universities in the sectors of teacher exchanges, student mobility and joint research projects. On this occasion, rector Di Pietra met with vice president Miao LIU and the heads of the Schools of Business, Continuing Education and International Studies.
During the meeting with the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), the topic of academic collaboration and the protocol already activated for student mobility was explored in depth, and it was decided to strengthen bilateral collaborative relations between the two universities , especially regarding teacher exchanges and joint research projects.
The meeting was attended by Shi Daning, vice president of NUAA, together with the Directors of the Departments of Academic Affairs, Physical Education and the Arts, the Director of International Cooperation and the Director of the Department of New Teaching Technologies. The University of Siena already has semesterly student exchanges with this important Chinese academic institution.
