“Future & Work”. In Pescara the report on the skills most requested by companies in Abruzzo

PESCARA – “Future & Work”. Change in the sociological concept of work, skills and competitiveness, workplace training, investments in human capital, new generations and global markets. These are the focuses around which the debate based on the data emerged on Tuesday 25 June at the headquarters of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, Via Raiale 110 bis – Pescara, where the complete report was presented with all the results of the survey promoted by Confindustria Abruzzo Piccola Industria and Adecco on the skills and professionalism required by companies in Abruzzo.

The event took the form of a conference entitled: “Future & Work, Active policies and new skills for employment” and constituted an open dialogue between people, companies, unions and institutions to design the together future of the world of work and employment.

Giammaria de Paulis – Vice President of Small Industry Confindustria Abruzzo, promoter of the research, underlined: “The indicators of stable employability are all positive for our Region. The objective of the discussion we wanted today with institutions, businesses and unions is to analyze the critical issues of the world of work, of the mismatch between supply and demand, on the basis of objective data, to identify together shared paths on which to invest synergistically. We involved 251 companies from all sectors and all sizes: something in Abruzzo is moving positively, in line with the times and characteristics of a now global labor market; in fact, the first profile that emerges as the most sought after, sales and sales staff, is the same one indicated by the global social network LinkedIn as the one on the rise in 2025. Finally, with a view to full synergy and concreteness we have collected, together to all stakeholders present, the Region’s invitation to establish an observatory of the world of work, in which the words “efficiency” and “effectiveness” are the keys to understanding concrete analyzes and reporting, linked to the territory, companies and workers, to train and support targeted professions and skills, especially in a world where the real key to understanding is not change, but the speed with which this happens”.

Angelina Coletta – Head of Operations Abruzzo Molise Adecco Italia presented the results of the analysis in detail, underlining that: “The forecast on the variation in the workforce of the companies interviewed stands at an average of plus 3.65% in the coming months, with a peak for SMEs with less than 50 employees of an increase of 10.06% and, with reference to the production sectors, a +7.76% for the services sector. The most requested skills and those that are more difficult to find in the profiles to be hired were the orientation to results in terms of determination and commitment and problem solving. This means that companies need skills to compete in terms of orientation to results rather than technical skills.”

Giuseppe Ranalli – President Piccola Industria Confindustria Abruzzo added: “The brain drain hits us hard, we must recover the young people who choose to go abroad. An impoverishment for Abruzzo companies and their competitiveness on the market. We must develop the attractiveness of our workplaces, with welfare actions. Development cannot be achieved without people: collaborators are at the center of the company.”

They also spoke at the conference Umberto Sgambati – Vice President of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, Tiziana Magnacca – Councillor of the Abruzzo Region with responsibility for Labour, Luca Di Giammatteo – Adecco Italia Branch Manager, Dario Nizza – Development Director Adecco Italia SpA, Renata Durante – Director of the Abruzzo Region Labor Department, Michael Lombard – General Secretary UIL Abruzzo, Carmine Ranieri – General Secretary CGIL Abruzzo Molise, Fabio Benintendi – CISL Representative Abruzzo Molise.
