The Municipality of Altamura announces that with sentence no. 5555/2024, published on 24 June 2024, the Council of State, Second Section, in the jurisdictional seat has definitively ruled on the appeal of the sentence of the TAR Puglia, presented by some exponents of the Polis 2023 coalition. The ruling fully confirms the rulings of the first degree, considering the complaints raised in the appeal to be totally unfounded.
This ruling concludes the judicial process relating to the election of the Mayor Prof. Vitantonio Petronella and the alleged irregularities that allegedly occurred during the administrative elections in the summer of 2023. The Council of State has, in fact, confirmed the regularity of the operations electoral and the legitimacy of the election, dispelling any doubts about the procedures adopted.
In this regard, the Municipality of Altamura takes this opportunity to thank the lawyer Giovanni Vittorio Nardelli who brilliantly defended the work and legitimacy of the electoral operations of the Authority.
We also thank the State Attorney’s Office, which sponsored ex lege the Ministry of the Interior and the Prefecture of Bari, guaranteeing legal assistance of the highest level, as well as all the lawyers who made up the defense team of the parties appearing in judgment, whose commitment and professionalism contributed to creating a clear and transparent discussion on all the issues raised.
