Thursday June 27 2024, at 5pmin the conference room of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, the International Writers’ Center of Calabria and the Museum itself present the volume “A bridge over the abyss” by Paolo Toscano, Albatros edition.
They will introduce the meeting Fabrizio Sudano, director of the MArRC, and Loreley Rosita Borruto, president of the CIS of Calabria. Speakers: Fulvio Rizzo, former Attorney General at the Prosecutor’s Office of the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria; Mila Lucisano, teacher of Italian and Latin at the Liceo Scientifico “L. Da Vinci” of Reggio Calabria.

The novel “Bridge over the Abyss”
“A bridge over the abyss” is the first novel written by Paolo Toscano, journalist, former editor of the Gazzetta del Sud.
The novel tells the story of a mafia boss who plays a role of absolute power, privately administering justice, imposing extortion and guardianship. At first a tenacious opponent of drug trafficking, he must change his mind and become a supporter of the new criminal model. With drug trafficking, the mafia family becomes more powerful and hegemonic in drug trafficking, with a notable economic and violent potential, until a person from his own family, not accepting to live a life of submission and obedience, decides to denounce the godfather’s illicit trafficking.

Paolo Toscano is a journalist with thirty years of experience behind himSouthern Gazette”, for which he was head of service. In his career he has dealt with a long series of important crime and judicial events.
