TERAMO. Over 30 interventions by the firefighters, flooding, inconvenience and damage along the north coast. The toll of yesterday afternoon’s wave of bad weather speaks of collapsed trees and unsafe branches, basements occupied by water, blocked roads. In Martinsicuro the heavy rain also infiltrated the newly installed clock tower of the Sacred Heart church and entered the houses through the chimneys. A quarter of an hour of intense rain, a water bomb that also left its marks in Roseto, Giulianova, Alba Adriatica.
Fire brigade intervention
The firefighters intervened on the Giulianova seafront to remove a tall maritime pine which was in precarious stability conditions. The team from the Nereto Detachment, with the support of colleagues from Teramo, intervened in Alba Adriatica and Martinsicuro for the removal of unsafe trees and branches. Furthermore, in the evening, a complex intervention was completed to move a large specimen of cypress that had fallen on the roof of a building in via Paolucci in Martinsicuro. Here the storm put traffic in crisis with many streets flooded, the underpass in via Roma closed, a tree fallen in via Molise and several pine branches downed in other streets. A The storm calmed down quickly, but created inconvenience and much concern among citizens. Visibility along the roads was limited and many motorists preferred to stop.
