Press Release: Veneto Council, amendments approved to regional law on trade in public areas – Press Releases

(Arv) Venice 25 June. 2024 – During today’s session, the Veneto Regional Council approved bill no. with 35 votes in favor and 9 abstentions. 173 which modifies the law. reg. n. 10/2001 entitled “New rules regarding trade in public areas”, on the initiative of the councilor Elisa Cavinato (Lega-LV), also responsible for reporting in the Chamber, with the vice-president of the legislative assembly Francesca Zottis (Democratic Party) in role of co-supervisor.

In summary, the legislative change allows, in the matter of itinerant commerce in public areas, to replace the current legal regime – which provides for the issuing of an authorization by the municipality in which the activity is intended to be carried out – with the sending a SCIA, i.e. the certified notification of the start of activity which, pursuant to law no. 241/1990, allows the interested party to start the commercial exercise without waiting for the authorization act from the local authority which can in any case carry out the checks within the times established by law. Again for the purpose of simplifying bureaucratic obligations, the regional law, in the new formulation, allows the simultaneous sending of the Single Communication to be associated with the SCIA, in order to satisfy the costs necessary for starting the business through a single hub telematic.

Previously, the Venetian legislative assembly had appointed two members of the Board of Directors of Veneto Sviluppo Spa. They are Annamaria Babetto, indicated by the president of the Lega-LV intergroup Alberto Villanova, and Monica Billio, indicated by the group leader of the Democratic Party Vanessa Camani.
